Faliraki area
Faliraki – one of the most popular tourist areas on the eastern side of the island. Beautiful sandy beaches washed by the Mediterranean Sea, was granted many awards «Blue Flag» for cleanliness and environmental safety. If you like to swim and take sunbathes, that’s probably gonna be the best place for you – the sea on this side of the island is calm and serene more than 300 days a year. For those who prefer active recreation there are several water sports centers on the beach, where you can ride jet skis, water skiing or parasailing.
Waterpark in Faliraki is the second largest in Europe and will bring a lot of joy to children and adults. If you go on vacation with the child, we recommended you to visit an amusement park, which is located nearby.
During the summer this small town becomes the capital of the island’s nightlife. Bar street at night time filled up with lots of tourists of different ages from all over the world and the fun does not stop until the morning.
Like any other tourist town – Faliraki is almost entirely composed of shops, entertainment places and restaurants to suit all tastes. You will appreciate the variety of dishes from around the world in local restaurants, but we advise you to try the famous Greek dishes such as moussaka or pastitsia & enjoy those delicious meal with the legendary local wine – retsina.
