Car rental
Rent a car is a very common service in Rhodes. It’s allowed to anyone who are older than 21 years, got driver license of international standard & at least one year of driving experience. Even after meeting with the island on our tour – there’s still remains a lot of places that you would be interested to visit by your own. Our staff gladly will help you to make an interesting trip, pick up vehicle that you would like and properly execute all documents on it. The car would be delivered to a convenient time and place that you prefer.
To make your journey as much pleasurable as it possible – we recommend you to pay attention to a number of features of driving rules in Greece:
- Parking. In the cities of Rhodes and Lindos parking in places where the curb or the adjacent roadway is painted blue – paid. In order to pay for ше, find the nearest parking meter, put your money in it, get a receipt and put it under front glass of your car so the controller could see it. It’s really hard to find free parking in the center of the city. The yellow markings means that parking in this place is prohibited.
- Seat belts. Be sure to use safety belts – driver’s & front seat passenger’s, as well you are more than welcome to buckle up passengers in the back seat. Penalty for unfastened belt – 350 euros.
- Driving while intoxicated. You should not get behind the wheel, if you’re already drinking, even one glass of wine or beer. In addition to dangers of driving on mountain roads in a state of intoxication, there is a real risk of a fine from 200 to 1200 euros!
- Penalties. If you had been issued a fine, you need to pay for it at the nearest police station as soon as it possible. For an unpaid fine, you can lose the right to enter the Schengen area for up to 5 years. In Greece, the fines are large, so follow the rules of the road – in your best interest.
- Gasoline. When you lease a car – the rental company always put a mark in your documents about the amount of fuel in a vehicle. When returning the car you will need to fill the tank to that level. At the gas station you just need to say the amount of liters that you want to fill up & the category of gasoline. Almost universal brand of fuel for all types of vehicles – UNLEADED.
